'58 Class Graduation picture
Unless a few boys in the class "broke the
camera", someone must have the '58 graduation
picture for our site. It will help to identify
people for the re-union as well provide a laugh.

Midnight in the Graveyard
Remember third grade catechism class with Father
Waldron? He "locked" the sister out in the hall
and told a continuing story all year about what
would happen in a graveyard when the clock struck
midnight ("It was two minutes to midnight...."
Anyone remember if the clock actually struck
midnight, and what happened (if anything), when
it did?

Pictures
I just received some great pictures from Kay
Brennan and Joe Genarella. Graduation, Lewis
school kindergarten with Ms. MacInerney '50 and
others. Stay tuned ,we will post them. The
responses from our fellow classmates is
extremely good: those we have contacted are very
enthused about the re-union.

Thanks for the Memories
My head is so full of memories of St. Pete's &
Crystal St. that I can't put them all down on
paper (blog). I guess I'll have to save them
until April '09, at the reunion. We have had a
great time planning a wonderful day for all of
you. Hope you can make it and tell me some of
your memories. Refresh old friendships and make
new memories. Join us in April. Joanne

Do You Have Photos For Posting On The SPC Website
If you would like to add to the collection of
photos on the SPC reunion website and BLOG,
please scan and email them to me at
sjm6002@gmail.com. The scanned photos that you
email need to be in a GIF, JPG, JPEG or PNG
format. Also, in the email identify the picture
as best as possible.
Someone MUST have a list of the graduates for
the SPC Class of 1958. We have a copy of the
graduation picture, but it does not list the
graduates by name. If you have such a list,
please contact Bob Conti at motts44@comcast.net

Lewis Alum, Class of '80
Hello! I graduated from Lewis but was a SPC
parishoner, attended CCD and made my sacraments
there. Would like to hear from anyone near my
age group from Lewis or SPC. I have wonderful
memories of the neighborhood, esp Chesters,
Budget Basket, haircuts at Christines and of
course the church (Fr. Mattei, Fr. Rizzo, Fr.
Collins, Fr. Cerny). Love the sites and the
photos.

Our Neighborhood
SPC wasn't just a school to me, it was a family.
The committee is having such a great time
planning the reunion and seeing each other again
after so many years. So comeon everyone
get excited with me and let's go back in time
even if it's for only one day. Donna
if it's for only one day.

The puppy raffle!
I have such a fond memory of Father Morrison.
He had a beautiful dog that had puppies. This
posed quite a problem for Father.....so in
keeping with fairness and fundraising...he
organized a raffle for the pups to find new
homes!!I can remember buying so many raffle
tickets, but afraid to tell my parents(since I
already had a wonderful dog at home!). God
knows best ....needless to say the raffle was a
huge success and lucky for my folks, I did not
win! This probablly took place around 1957. I a
1958 graduate.

OMGoodness..1969-2009..wow 40 years!!!
Where has the time gone!?! So much technology,
so many things. This is surreal. So is there
going to be a reunion of the class of 1969? I
would love to be there and try to figure out who
is who. What a trip down memory lane. Who is out
there and who is even interested with all the
time and living (and I'm sure dying) that has
gone on in between. I know people that don't
even use the internet, I don't have a cell phone
yet! So are there invitations that are sent or
does one have to check every ten years to see
what is going on, and where do you check. Good
old St. Pete's or is there someone in charge of
all this reunion stuff. I have to admit, I lost
20 or 30 years somewhere, so I am clueless on
how this would work. I went to my 10 year
reuinion and to think that was 20 years ago! -So
who is out there from the class of 1969?
Remember Mr. Purton, Sister Leah? My favorites.
Patty Colgan, are you out there?

Join the Celebration
We're getting close to the 4/26 Reunion Gala.
Don't be left out in the cold..send in your
reservation form and money. You don't want to be
turned away at the door. Although it says '58
and '59, all classes and friends are invited to
attend. I'm sure you'll know someone from St.
Pete's. If anyone has information on the
faculty, please let us know.

Reunion Reservations Extended - Do Not Delay
The dog ate the reunion reservation – I look to
damn old – I need lipo – Gravity has played
cruel tricks on my body – I think that I may be
ill on 4/26 – etc., etc. PLEASE NO EXCUSES
ALLOWED!! …You need to be part of this gala
celebration. If you have not sent in your
reservation for the 1958/1959 SPC Reunion as of
yet, just do it. We will feel very disappointed
if you do not attend or just wait to long before
you send in your reservation. You do not want to
miss the opportunity to reconnect with old
friends and share the many wonderful stories of
growing up on the Westside of Chicago in St.
Peter Canisius parish. Find out about your many
fellow graduates that you probably have not seen
in close to fifty years.
Many from the class of 1958 & 1959 have sent
there reservations already. What are you waiting
for? Do not be a “PUTZ” We have space
limitations, so send in the reservation form
which can be found on the website under “Reunion
Information”.

is this going to be like the last reunion
is this definitely just for the 3 years listed or
will it be liek the 07 reunion for all?

Great Memories
Oi! the nostalgia. I have so many great
memories of the class of '58. St. Pete's was
the best. Do you remember the socials on
Thursday night at the park? Who would let there
12 year old daughter walk home in the dark today?
|
Monday Morning Quarterback
You don't want to be a Monday Morning Quarterback
on 4/27, do you? You'll be reading about all the
fun we had and looking at pictures of friends
from you past and wishing you were there. Don't
be shy...we've opened the door for any class to
attend. Get your reservation form and money in
the mail today...GO ST. PETE'S!!!

Another Memory
Well, the 2009 Reunion is just another memory.
The committee would like to thank everyone that
attended, esepcially those who traveled a long
distance. I know that I had a GREAT time and
hope you did too. If you missed it please take a
look at the photos. You'll get an idea of the
good time that was had by all. I wish you all
well in the future. Joanne Massarelli Carter '59

Thanks for a great time!
I had a wonderful time at the reunion. Thanks
to the organizers for all their hard work to
give us a great time.

Kudos to the Committee!
Kudos to the entire committee for a job well done!
The exhibits brought back many memories, the
conversations were great, and the pictures show
what a good time everyone had seeing each other again!

I remember Lee Bernadelli
I graduated from SPC in 1957. I remember the un-
air conditioned classrooms were sweltering in
the SUmmer. The nylon regulation shirts would
literally stick to your skin. I have very fond
memories of a lay teacher named Lee Bernadelli
that was probably the most effective teacher I
ever had. She made learning fun.Sister theresa
was a strict disciplanarian. I remember Father
Kuo as well.
